Meet Iris

Born in April 2018, Iris Nisi is already building her own place in the world of motorsport. In 2026, she is a Grade 2 student at St Patrick’s Mentone, balancing school life with a growing passion for go-kart racing.

Her love for racing started early. Surrounded by cars, RC vehicles and go-karts through her dad Damian, Iris was driving her electric Mustang independently by just three years old. At five, she had her first proper go-kart drive in Cheltenham, and on her sixth birthday, the first day she was legally allowed on track, she completed her first official track session.

Now, with her Instagram page IrisNisiRacing and her admiration for Oscar Piastri, Iris is beginning to shape her own racing identity, one lap at a time.

Iris’s journey is strongly supported by her family. Her dad, Damian Nisi, has a long background in motorsport, mechanical work and hands-on builds. After years in RC racing, he moved into go-karting and has helped create an environment where racing is part of everyday family life.

Her mum, Alicia Nisi, also plays an important role. She manages the office for Nisi Electrical and is Secretary of the Oakleigh Go-Kart Racing Club, keeping the family closely connected to the karting community.

By age seven, Iris had already entered her first competitive club day in Horsham. Away from the track, she continues to practise on a home racing simulator built by Damian, where she is already faster than her mum and closing in on her dad’s times. With race weekends, karting, camping and family support all coming together, Iris’s racing journey is as much about family as it is about competition.
