Supporting Young Girls in Motorsport
Motorsport remains a male-dominated sport, especially at grassroots level. Many young girls never get the chance to explore it fully.
Supporting participation early helps create a more inclusive future for the sport. It gives young drivers the confidence to stay involved, improve their skills, and see a pathway forward.
For Iris, this journey is about learning, enjoyment, and steady progress. For those who support her, it is a chance to be part of something meaningful from the ground up.
MEET IRIS
A Young Driver Beginning Her Racing Journey
Iris is 8 years old and currently competes in Cadet 9 karting events while balancing school, family life, and a growing passion for motorsport.
Her interest in racing developed naturally through time spent around the garage with her family, learning about cars, engines, and the sport itself.
What began as curiosity has quickly become something she genuinely enjoys and wants to continue pursuing.

THE REALITY OF KARTING
Commitment Requires Significant Support
Iris navigates a tough routine as a Cadet 9 whilst she balances her primary schooling curriculum. She will be on track for practice at least twice per week and then help her Dad with kart maintenance one night after school per week.
The calendar of events for Cadet 9’s that INR have committed to in 2026 is challenging but as her commitment grows, so too does the structure around her development. She has recently secured coaching from Damian Brasher, who is associated with J&D Motorsport and Nick Percat, providing a more professional pathway forward.
